Design
Designed with the principles of fluid mechanics at its core, this system ensures smooth angle changes and precise diameters to prevent flow separation. The MAF housing is meticulously designed to ensure optimal airflow management. By positioning it before any bends in the flange, the housing is strategically placed to remain at the center of the circle. The cross-sectional profile (Including the inner diameter (ID)) at the MAF sensor location matches that of the OEM piping. This design choice facilitates uniform flow around the sensor, leading to precise and reliable readings, preventing any possible error codes that other products on the market create. Accurate airflow measurements are crucial for performance tuning and engine management, making this configuration essential for achieving optimal results. The Filter attachment interference can be customized to the filter of your choice.
HBC default model uses the 3” piping assuming the customer plans to integrate this setup with an OEM turbo and piping, as the OEM piping typically measures approximately 75-80mm.
Heat and Chemical resistance
The flange material we use (ABS) is the same material as the OEM air intake, including its thickness. We have meticulously selected our material supplier to guarantee that the flange material possesses a high glass transition temperature and extensive resistance to potential chemical exposure found in the engine bay. This means our products are not only durable but also built to withstand the demanding environment.
Customizations
Potential customizations:
Length
Inlet and outlet diameter of the piping
Pipe directions
Fitting style
PLEASE NOTE : For any customizations to our base designs that work with OEM piping and engine bays, please fille out the automated product form or email hotbedcustoms@gmail.com, after purchasing the custom option. Include details about the filter you plan to use and any additional features you’d like.
HBC recognizes that Subarus are equipped with various MAF sensors and air intake piping designs across their different models, necessitating distinct housings and flange configurations. To ensure you acquire the correct product, simply fill out the automated product form with your vehicle details, and we will verify your selection.
Installation/Securement
Simply remove the stock intake and install the new one in the same fashion by switching over the MAF sensor and attaching the filter to one end and the intercooler piping to the other. The arrow on the MAF housing indicates the direction the flow will go. Ensure that all connections are secure and any clamps are tightened appropriately. Double-check for any vacuum leaks before starting the vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
The included support bracket enhances stability to ensure the podfilter is secure. To use it effectively, position the c-hook of the bracket under the hose clamp on the rubber of the pod filter. Next, locate the nearest bolt hole and manually bend the other end of the bracket, ensuring it aligns properly for secure fastening.
